What is the future of International Women's Day on March 8 in Ukraine?

In 2024, Ukraine entered one of the few holidays of Soviet times, which has not yet been canceled-the International Women's Day on March 8.

It remained a national holiday - in particular, with a day off, with the only amendment that at the time of the war all the holidays were canceled.

Attempts to "clean" March 8 were not yet successful last year, when the People's Deputy from the "servant of the people" Marina Bardin proposed to rename him to the International Day for the Protection of Women's Rights and to make it workers. She brought to the Council a corresponding bill.

But the survey in the Action, which took place at the same time, showed that almost 62% of the service users against the day off on March 8.

So attempts to cancel the holiday have stopped. But the authorities want to change its content - it is not recommended to greet women with compliments, but instead should be reminded of their civil rights.

But, apparently, Ukrainians have little listening to these recommendations. Over the past day, the request "March 8" and its variations has become the most popular in Google from Ukraine.
