A new study at the UK University has revealed a alarming fact that nine out of ten makeup cosmetics can be contaminated with potentially dangerous germs. The study showed that there are even fatal bacteria such as Escherichia coli and staphylococcus.
One of the main results of the study was the alarming information about sponge and beauty-fighter-tools that are widely used for makeup. According to experts, these tools were the most polluted. Their concentration of bacteria per 1 milliliter exceeded a million germs - an impressive large number, compared to other cosmetics such as lipstick, eyelash mascara, eye pencils or makeup brush. Even more shocking is that germs contamination applies to both used and new sponge. According to scientists, moisture and residues of cosmetics create the ideal conditions for bacterial reproduction, which is dangerous for skin health and overall well -being. The study also included surveys among cosmetics users. It turned out that 93% of respondents did not clean their sponge properly, even when they fell on the floor while use. This undoubtedly promotes the reproduction of bacteria that get on the skin and can cause various skin infections.
Experts emphasize the need for regular cleaning of all makeup products, especially sponges and beauty blonders. It is recommended to wash them thoroughly after each use to minimize the risk of infections. In addition, it is important to change cosmetics such as mascara, lipstick and pencils regularly, which can reduce the likelihood of contamination.
This study has become an important reminder for all makeup fans about how important it is to take care of the cleanliness of the tools and tools we use daily.
