The EU called on citizens to stock up in case of war with Russia

Due to the growth of security challenges and the threat of possible attack by Russia, the European Union appealed to its citizens with the recommendation to prepare for emergencies, making food, water, water and things. According to a report prepared by Finnish Expature and Advisor to the President of the European Commission, Sauli Niinsto, European households are advised to be self -retention for at least 72 hours.

The Covid-19 pandemic and Russian aggression against Ukraine have found critical shortcomings in the preparedness of the European Union for such emergencies. As stated in the report, the EU has decided to move from a reactive to proactive strategy, encouraging citizens to supply goods for long-term storage, medicines, lighting sources and communication, such as batteries.

In addition to households, Member States are also advised to give citizens instructions on evacuation strategies and access to emergency services in the event of a crisis. Particularly emphasized is the readiness for possible Russian aggressive actions, as the EU does not have a single plan of action in case of armed conflict in one of the Member States.

Sauli Niintyo believes that the basis of a readiness strategy should be the expansion of citizens' awareness and the development of their self -sufficiency skills. It is planned to increase EU funding by 20% to strengthen safety and crisis response. It is also proposed to strengthen the exchange of intelligence between EU countries, which will create a more coherent collective defense system.

According to Financial Times , in the event of a conflict, Europe can mobilize only about 300,000 soldiers, which, according to experts, is insufficient to reflect large -scale aggression. Against this background, NATO develops a US troops strategy and the creation of land corridors to quickly move the forces in the event of an attack.

According to Foreign Policy , Russian officials regularly threaten Poland, Finland and the Baltic countries, increasing tension in the region. Lieutenant General Karsten Broker, General Inspector of the German Armed Forces, is convinced that Russia's attack on NATO may occur in the coming years. To increase readiness, some countries, including Estonia, are expanding weapons.

According to Bild , the modeling of Russia's potential aggression against NATO's eastern flank in 2027 stipulates that the Alliance will take about ten days to fully activate collective defense under the Fifth Article of the North Atlantic Treaty. Against this background of the EU country, they are increasingly focused on self -sufficiency and readiness for unforeseen situations in order to guarantee the security and stability of the region.
