Last summer, Ukraine's counter -offensive failed, despite large deliveries from the west - 1500 units of armored vehicles of all kinds and several hundred artillery tools.
The event was understood that the resource ratio is not in favor of Ukraine, says Wolfgang Richter's safety expert in an interview with SRF.
Now the situation is complicated by the fact that the US has stopped supplying weapons. And this raises the question of whether Europeans want and whether they can economically fill this gap.
You cannot simply switch a free market economy to military production.
"And we have underestimated the economic and political risks of a double strategy - supplying weapons to Ukraine and sanctions against Russia. It should make us think," Richter emphasizes.
The event strategy was a safe game in the fog of war - but the risk assessment had to be different.
"Now we are faced with these risks - elections in the United States, economic risks in Europe. And yet we cling to, perhaps, unrealistic rhetoric of victory," the expert said.
In this case, the situation for Ukrainians remains unstable and tense.
