French President Emmanuel Macron has stated that the European Union countries are making every effort to stop Russia's aggression and prevent a full -scale global conflict. He said this on May 13 in a comment to reporters, BFMTV reports.
According to Macron, France plays an active role in the settlement of war in Ukraine and is a coalition of decisive, uniting states, set up to support Kiev in the fight against the Russian invasion.
EU countries are making maximum possible to stop Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, said the French leader.
Macron also stressed that the Russian army is a threat not only for Ukraine - it will not stop if it is allowed to act without obstacles. That is why European leaders operate together to complete the war with diplomatic and political way, without escalation to global scale.
We do not want to ignite the Third World War. The task for Europeans is not to be on the front line on the border between Russia and Ukraine, Macron said.
He stressed that Europe's strategy is to restrain Russian aggression without involving the continent into an open military confrontation with Moscow.
