Europe declares the need to strengthen sanctions

After the next attack of Russian troops on the amount of April 13, which led to numerous casualties among the civilians, European countries expressed their deep concern, condemned this act of aggression and expressed their condolences to the Ukrainians.

The high representative of the EU on Foreign Relations and Security Policies, Kai Callas shared her experiences on social networks, calling a rocket strike "a horrible example of how Russia continues to increase attacks, although Ukraine has already accepted the unconditional ceasefire." She noted that her thoughts today with the Ukrainian people, who survived the terrible moments during the celebration of Palm Sunday, when the rocket strike collapsed on the city. Moldova President, Maya Sandu, also expressed her support to Ukraine, saying that "Moldova misses with Ukraine because of the death of people in Sumy" and called on to strengthen air defense to save the lives of civilians. She stressed that the aggressor should be held accountable and that "there is no excuse." In his statement, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia, Margus Tsakhkna, called Russia's actions "inhuman", expressing compassion for all the victims of the missile strike by Sumy. Tsakhkna noted that "the world lacks words to describe the inhuman evil committed by Russia."

The Ambassador of the European Union to Ukraine Katarina Mernova also expressed its indignation and condemnation of this attack. She described the event as another Russian military crime, noting that two ballistic missiles hit the center at the moment when people gathered for a prayer on the occasion of Palm Sunday. Marynova noted that the attack on parishioners on such a saint for Ukrainians is a "horrific tragedy" and emphasized that "there is nothing holy for the Russians - neither churches nor Ukrainian children." These statements are another confirmation of how the world community continues to condemn Russia's aggressive actions and increase pressure on the aggressor. European countries are actively supporting Ukraine in its fight against the Russian invasion and call for international solidarity and decisive action to punish the perpetrators.

According to Andriy Sibiga, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ukrainian authorities intend to convey all information about this attack to international partners, calling for a decisive reaction to this crime. It is known that as a result of rocket stroke, 24 people were killed and 84 were injured. This crime has caused indignation not only in Ukraine but all over the world.
