The European Parliament has approved a resolution in which European countries have recognized the presidential elections held in Russia in March illegitimate and undemocratic. About it reports Deutsche Welle.
493 of the 522 MEPs voted for the relevant resolution.
They urge "to punish the organizers of voting in the occupied territories of Ukraine" and "to minimize" relations with Putin only to topics of peace, humanitarian and human rights issues.
The MEPs also urge to assist the Russian opposition in every possible way: to issue visas, to simplify the procedures for registration of organizations and companies, to open bank accounts, etc.
