On Sunday, July 17, the European Parliament approved a resolution in which he expressed his decisive condemnation of Russia's missile strike at Ohmatdit Children's Hospital in Kiev, which happened on July 8. The resolution also criticizes the visit of Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban to Moscow, which took place during the war between Russia and Ukraine.
The resolution emphasizes the support of the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine in its internationally recognized borders. This is noted as a permanent position of the European Parliament in the context of modern global challenges.
The European Parliament called the Ohmatdit Children's Hospital in Kyiv and expressed deep indignation about such aggression that led to human casualties and the destruction of civilian infrastructure.
It is noted that Victor Orban's visit to Moscow was regarded as a gross violation of the EU's general foreign foreign policy. It was against the EU's common position in the context of sanctions against Russia, which is imposed in connection with the war in Ukraine. The European Parliament called on Hungary to be responsible for these actions.
The resolution also expressed support for further expansion of the EU sanction policy against Russia and Belarus, as well as the need to solve the problem of bypassing sanctions by European companies and third countries.
The European Parliament has called on the EU to systematically monitor the effectiveness of sanctions and their impact, as well as to actively work on compensation for the destruction caused to Ukraine through funding by Russia.
