From January 1, 2025, the government of Ukraine will start a program of monthly "teacher supplement" to teachers' salaries. The payment initiated to support teachers will amount to 1,000 hryvnias per month.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that this initiative is aimed at increasing the level of support for teachers, who play a key role in the education of the younger generation.
"In fulfillment of the President's mandate, we are making an important decision to support our teachers," he said.
The government also plans to further increase the supplement: from September 1, 2025, the amount of the monthly "teacher supplement" will increase to 2,000 hryvnias. The promised payments will be provided "in hand", that is, without additional deductions, which will ensure a direct increase in teachers' income.
