The West believes that Russia can use the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall as an excuse to intensify military operations in Ukraine, writes Bloomberg.
"The obvious way the Kremlin can use this is to somehow link it to the war in Ukraine," said Charles Litchfield, deputy head of the Atlantic Council's Center for Geoeconomics in Washington.
According to him, "an immediate response may be an increase in the number of drone attacks and missile attacks, although they have increased even before the terrorist attack."
The White House continues to monitor the situation. Earlier, the representative of the National Security Council, John Kirby, said that Washington has no indications that the terrorist attack was carried out by Ukraine. Some Russian state media have suggested that Kyiv may be involved in the attack, but Ukraine itself and its allies have persistently denied any role in the tragedy.
