The Law on New Medical Support of the Armed Forces was signed in accordance with NATO standards

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi on Friday, March 1, signed draft law No. 10343 on the organization of medical support for the Armed Forces. This law allows the Ministry of Defense to adopt protocols and standards for the provision of pre-medical and medical care based on NATO standards.

From now on, the Ministry of Defense will be able to approve the list of medicines, quality standards and minimum requirements for them, which are used by the military during hostilities.

The explanatory note to the draft law indicated that its adoption will contribute to meeting the needs of providing military units with modern and high-quality medical equipment. Earlier, Nataliya Kalmykova, Deputy Minister of Defense, emphasized that this draft law is an important step on the way to ensuring a high level of medical care for Ukrainian servicemen, adapted to international standards.

The law also provides for the unification of approaches to treatment in health care institutions of the Ministry of Defense, establishment of medical professional qualifications and approval of lists of medicines and equipment according to unified standards.
