Zelensky's Laws on Martial Status and Mobilization

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada draft laws, which provide for the extension of the term of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine. These laws, registered under numbers No. 13172 and # 13173, propose to continue these measures for another 90 days.

This is the 15th voting of the Verkhovna Rada on the continuation of martial law and mobilization since the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. The last decision to continue these measures was made on January 15, 2025, when the Verkhovna Rada approved the draft laws that continued martial law and mobilization until May 9, 2025.

The decision to continue martial law and mobilize is necessary to ensure the national security and defense capability of the country against the background of a continuing war with Russia. In the face of constant military threats and maintaining hostilities, these measures allow you to mobilize resources to protect the state and support the military units.

During a full -scale war, the continuation of martial law and mobilization, it became a common process for Ukrainian legislators. Every three months, depending on the situation on the front and threats to the country, the Verkhovna Rada makes new decisions to continue these measures.
