Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga announced the successful capture of the North Korean military in the Kursk region, calling it a landmark event that changes the realities of the Russian-Ukrainian war. He stated this during a briefing following the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Estonia Margus Tahkn.
"It is a great success and recognition of the heroism of our warriors. It was extremely difficult to capture a living soldier, because they often commit suicide to avoid captivity, and the Russian army makes efforts to prevent them from being alive," Sibiga said.
According to Sibiga, this case confirms the participation of the North Korean military in the war on the side of Russia. For the first time, the DPRK soldiers are fighting on the European continent, which demonstrates the globalization of the Kremlin's aggression.
The Foreign Minister of Estonia Margus Tsakhkna stressed that the fact of participation of the military with the DPRK in Russian aggression creates serious challenges for global security. He stressed that it is not just Russia's regional aggression, but a global problem that should change approaches to international policy in both the US and Europe and in the countries of the Global South.
"There are now two witnesses that bring the DPRK to the war. This is a clear sign that aggression is becoming a threat to the whole world," Tsakhkna said.
