Zelensky and Macron agreed on further steps of support of Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with French President Emmanuel Macron within the NATO summit in the Hague. The leaders discussed further joint actions aimed at pressure on Russia, as well as strengthening the support of Ukraine by international partners.

The President of Ukraine informed the French colleague about the situation on the front and the consequences of Russian attacks against civilians. He stressed the need to strengthen the air defense system. Zelensky paid special attention to the efficiency of the French Mirage 2000 fighters, which have already increased the capabilities of Ukrainian forces in the fight against drones and missiles.

The meeting also considered the prospect of transferring additional Miage 2000 aircraft, as well as the production of drones-interceptors to counteract massive attacks on critical infrastructure.

The expansion of cooperation between the defense enterprises of both countries was discussed separately. It was also about developing a coalition of Ukraine that support Ukraine, as well as diplomatic work aimed at achieving a just and sustained peace.

In addition, leaders raised the topic of strengthening sanctions against Russia, including reducing the marginal price of oil and introducing restrictions on the export of Russian liquefied gas.

The parties also exchanged views on the situation in the Middle East and coordinated positions within the NATO summit.
