President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready to transfer to North Korea soldiers from the DPRK army, who are now fighting on the side of Russia, if Kim Jong -in is able to organize the exchange of these military for Ukrainian prisoners in Russia. Zelensky emphasized that this issue is only a matter of time, because the Ukrainian military continues to capture the DPRK soldiers.
The two DPRK soldiers who were captured in Ukraine have already shared their testimony. One of them stated that he did not want to return to North Korea and wants to stay in Ukraine, and the other expressed his readiness to return home. These stories were recorded during the interrogation published by Volodymyr Zelenskyy. According to representatives of the National Intelligence Service of South Korea, the health of the prisoners is not critical, despite their injuries. Zelensky also stressed that Russia depends largely on North Korea's military support. After three years of war with Ukraine, Russia cannot do without the help of Pyongyang, and this shows the situation with the military of North Korea, which are involved in hostilities on the side of the Russian Federation. The President of Ukraine noted that despite the fact that there are only two soldiers with the DPRK in captivity at the moment, these are not the last cases, and over time new opportunities will emerge for the exchange of prisoners of war between Ukraine and the DPRK.
All details of interrogations and circumstances of capture of the DPRK soldiers are actively documented and will be used for further negotiations on the exchange of prisoners.
