President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the requirements of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on ceasefire, saying that such statements are manipulative and aimed at delaying the process of peace.
Zelensky emphasized that Putin's words are predictable and demonstrate intentions to give up the idea of silence on the front. “We have all heard from Russia very predictable, very manipulative words of Putin in response to the idea of silence on the front - he actually prepares the refusal to be now. Putin, of course, is afraid to tell President Trump, who wants to continue this war, wants to kill Ukrainians. And so they, in Moscow, are furnished with the idea of silence such that nothing happens or does not work out as long as possible, ”the Ukrainian president explained.
Donald Trump's reaction to Putin's statement was cautious. He called the proposal of the Russian leader "promising but incomplete."
According to Zelensky, Putin tries to give the impression of constructiveness, but in fact his actions only delay the process and make it impossible to achieve normal decisions. “We do not set the conditions that complicate something. It does it. As we always said, the only one who will tighten everything, the only one who will be unconstructive is Russia. They need a war, ”the President of Ukraine emphasized. "Putin has stolen the years and continues this war - day after day," he added.
Zelensky called on the international community to continue pressure on Russia through sanctions and cooperation with US and European partners. "We will continue to work with our American partners, with European partners, with all in the world who wants peace to force Russia before the end of the war," the Ukrainian leader summed up.
