President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky abandoned the scheduled visit to Saudi Arabia, who was to take place on Wednesday. He stated this at a joint briefing with Turkish President Recep Taiip Erdogan on Tuesday, February 18, during his visit to Ankara.
Zelensky explained his decision with unexpected negotiations between representatives of the United States and Russia, which took place in Saudi Arabia without the participation of Ukraine. He stressed that the issue of end of the war cannot be discussed without official Kiev.
"We were not invited to this Russian-American meeting in Saudi Arabia. For us it was a surprise. I think for many. We got this information from the media ... I do not know who will stay there, and who will go, who is going where. Honestly, I do not care. I will go to Saudi Arabia, ”the President of Ukraine said.
He also stressed that Ukraine is not going to agree to Russia's ultimatum and does not change its position on war.
“And I have the impression that there are some negotiations now, and they are happening with the same mood, but they are happening between representatives of Russia and the United States of America. About Ukraine, again about Ukraine and without Ukraine. It is interesting if we did not go to all these ultimatums at the most difficult moment, from where Ukraine has.
At the same time, the President said that he had already agreed on Saudi Arabia on March 10, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a strong relationship with this country and its leaders.
