President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has confirmed that Ukraine will not abandon its strategic course for joining the European Union and NATO, despite pressure from Russia. During a press conference on May 19, he clearly reminded that the European integration vector of the country was enshrined in the Constitution.
Zelensky's comment made in response to the question of a Turkish journalist who asked if Ukraine is ready to consider neutral status as required by Russia. It is known that during previous negotiations in Istanbul, the Russian delegation insisted on consolidating such status for Ukraine, as well as on recognizing Russian control over Crimea and four other occupied regions.
"There is a status in Ukraine, it is in the Constitution of Ukraine, everything is written there," Zelensky said, adding with irony: "I am sure that you know the Turkish Constitution, if it is time - you can read a little Ukrainian."
