On February 19 in Arizona, the United States, there was a tragedy - two small aircraft collided in the air, causing two people to die. The incident happened near Tuson, at the Maran regional airport.
According to the authorities, two people were aboard each aircraft. One of the aircraft, Cessna 172, made an emergency landing and the other, Lancair 360 MK II, fell and caught fire next to the runway.
Rescuers were unable to assist the dead because the fire happened very quickly. Police did not specify in which the aircraft were killed, but the operator of the commercial flight school Aeroguard reported that the pilots of their Cessna aircraft remained alive.
This incident has become the fourth major plane crash in North America over the last month. Other tragedies include turning the Delta airline in Toronto and a fatal case with a suburban plane in Alaska.
