Ukraine's GDP growth slowed to 1.5%

According to the results of October 2024, the growth rate of the gross domestic product (GDP) of Ukraine slowed down to 1.5% compared to 3.8% in September. Such data indicate a slowdown in economic growth, although the overall dynamics for 10 months remains positive at the level of 4.2%.

October showed high growth rates in such sectors as:

  • Transport
  • Processing industry
  • Construction

In contrast, agriculture experienced a decline, attributed to the end of the early harvest in 2024. By the beginning of October, farmers had already harvested most of the agricultural crops, which was the reason for the decline in the sector.

  • GDP grew by 4.5% in nine months.
  • In 10 months — by 4.2%.
  • The growth rate in September was 3.8%.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) predicts that Ukraine's economy will grow by 3% in 2024, and only by 2.5% in 2025. This testifies to the persistence of challenges for the national economy in the conditions of post-war recovery.
