In Ukraine, positive dynamics in the growth of the average wage continue, as the latest data of the State Statistics Service for the second quarter of 2023 shows. During this period, Ukrainians receive 25.2% more than last year. This is objectively good news, especially in the context of war that lasts in the country.
According to information, the largest wage growth is noted in the following areas:
- Information and telecommunications - growth of 30.1% to 36 604 UAH.
- Financial and insurance activity - growth by 34.7% to 32 801 hryvnia.
- Professional, scientific and technical activity - growth by 21.4% to 22 871 hryvnia.
- Public administration and defense - growth by 13.3% to UAH 21,929.
This indicates that the increase occurs in different sectors of the economy, which contributes to the uniform distribution of economic growth.
Regarding the future, experts indicate possible improvements in the business environment, provided that the discount rate and the use of preferential programs are reduced. Small entrepreneurs can win from the various financial supports created by the government.
Other experts predict that in 2024 the level of real salaries of Ukrainians can reach UAH 21,809. This is an improvement by 8.5%, taking into account inflationary processes. Such a forecast is made to the state budget project for the next year. It should be noted that the nominal salary in 2023 will be 18 527 UAH.
It is unknown what factors have caused this increase, but it is important to keep in mind that in war, the economic situation can change rapidly.
