Zelensky's meeting with representatives of the Council of Churches

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with representatives of the All -Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations. The Head of State congratulated the spiritual leaders on the coming holidays - Christmas and Hanuka, and expressed gratitude for the support of Ukrainian soldiers and all who died in the struggle for the freedom of Ukraine.

"Your voice is heard and listened to both in Ukraine and abroad, where Russia is trying to use its church structures to influence politics and propaganda of war. We still have to approach peace together," the President emphasized.

Zelensky's special gratitude was given to the military chaplains who fulfill an important mission of supporting Ukrainian defenders. He expressed his hope that the Institute of Military Chaplaincy would continue to develop.

The meeting was attended by hierarchs of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Ukrainian Greek Catholic and Roman Catholic Churches, representatives of Protestant denominations and the Armenian Apostolic Church. The President emphasized the importance of cooperation with religious organizations for the advocacy of Ukraine in the world. In particular, this concerns the counteraction of the influence of Russia, which tries to use religious structures for propaganda and manipulation, including among Ukrainians who have been abroad through the war.

This meeting demonstrated the unity of the state and religious organizations in the pursuit of peace, as well as in the protection of national interests and spiritual identity of Ukraine.
