People's Deputy of Ukraine Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, explained the situation with the demobilization and release of servicemen. According to him, today there will be no mechanisms for mass dismissal from military service after 2-3 years of service. He also emphasized that demobilization is possible only if there are significant changes at the front, when it will be seen that the enemy is retreating, and Ukrainian troops are vacating the occupied territories.
"Demobilization is possible only if the situation on the battlefield allows it. Now we have no reason for optimism and in the near future we do not predict the possibility of a mass release of military personnel," said Venislavskyi in an interview with "Ukrainian Pravda". The deputy also emphasized that in order to remove a large number of people from military service, replacement mechanisms should be developed, as well as the time required for training new personnel should be taken into account. Without these steps, there is no question of the possibility of mass demobilization.
However, even in a time of war, there are grounds for exempting military personnel, and many have taken advantage of these opportunities in recent months. Venislavsky did not provide exact figures, but noted that dismissals from military service take place in accordance with current legislation.
Despite this, the deputy stressed that the issue of releasing military personnel after 2-3 years of service during a full-scale war is not relevant in the near future.
