Connection with Sich: a 300-year-old artifact was discovered at the bottom of the Kakhovsky Reservoir

At the bottom of the former Kakhovka reservoir in Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, an artifact was found, which could be connected with Zaporozhye Sich, which existed here between 1734 and 1774. According to the statement of the Deputy Director of the Local Museum of Local History, Miroslav Zhukovsky, it can be 300-year-old metal anchor. The artifact has a length of 1.2 meters and a weight of 18 kilograms. It is noted that the find, though corrosion, is in good condition. It is planned to send an artifact for examination to the Zaporizhzhya region. Historian Miroslav Zhukovsky pointed out that a thing can be both the basis of the anchor and the object of another purpose related to Zaporozhye Sich. This is the 11th find in the museum, connected with the Kakhovka reservoir, and is expected to be the last.
