30-day truce will not cancel martial law and will not allow elections

In Ukraine, they do not plan to abolish martial law even in case of declaration of a temporary truce with the Russian Federation for 30 days. In addition, no presidential elections will be held during the truce. This was stated by the adviser to the head of the Presidential Office Mikhail Podolyak in an interview with Repubblica .

Podolyak emphasized that the short -term truce does not mean the end of the war, but only creates potential risks to the security of the state. He noted that the situation in such a truce will remain unpredictable, so Ukraine cannot afford a weakening of defense measures. "The 30-day truce is not the end of the war.

He also emphasized the importance of the availability of proven international observers who could fix the violation of the truce and control the process of breeding troops. "We must keep the ability to fight until the situation is settled," Podolyak added.

Separately, Podolyak told about the impossibility of holding the presidential elections during martial law. In his opinion, it is impossible to guarantee the safety of polling stations and organize a full election campaign in a short -term truce. Election issues can only be considered if the negotiations on a stable ceasefire with the participation of neutral observers.

Podolyak's statements emphasize the determination of Ukraine to defend their safety and territorial integrity, even in the case of temporary agreements with Russia. To do this, the government plans to maintain readiness to repay aggression and continue active defensive measures.
