Amazon is forcing workers back into the office

Starting next year, Amazon American techno -giant will require their employees to return to permanent offices in offices five days a week. This decision was a surprise for many employees, as they currently work in the company's offices only three days a week. About it reports Reuters .

Amazon CEO Andy Yasi explained that changes in the company's policy are related to the need to improve cooperation, ingenuity and maintain a close relationship between employees. Issi noted that the current scheme of work for three days in the office has only strengthened beliefs about the benefits of permanent office work.

"In order to achieve the highest level of cooperation and ingenuity, we must be together in one space," he added.

Many companies, including Amazon, have allowed their employees to work at home after the Covid-19 pandemic, leaving offices almost empty. This was especially true of cities such as San Francisco and Sietl. However, after the pandemic lost its sharpness, techno-giants began to return their employees to offices for two to three days a week.

Amazon, however, took a harder position. The company's staff reported Reuters that they were forced to report on remote offices or move to Seattle to save their jobs.

As part of the company's restructuring, Amazon plans to increase the ratio of employees to managers by 15%by the end of the first quarter of 2025. In addition, the company cancels the previous program that allowed employees to work from anywhere for four months a year.

One of the new restrictions will be that employees who will not comply with the new rules for visiting the office will not gain increases. This is clearly stated in the message on Amazon's internal website.
