Less than a month remains the approach of Eurovision 2024, which will take place in Malme. In Sweden, preparation for the reception of Eurofans is actively ongoing. According to the current bookmakers, the winner of the NEMO, who represents Switzerland with the song “The Code”, claims the winning in Eurovision 2024. His chances of winning as of April 12 are rated at 25%.
The real name of NEMO is Nemo Metler. He was born in the small Swiss town of Bel-Bien and he is 24 years old. From his childhood, he showed interest in music, starting with a violin game, and later mastered the game on piano and drums. Out of these tools, he also writes and produces songs for himself and other artists.
NEMO has received a prestigious Swiss Music Awards five times for their work. His song "DU", released in 2017, took fourth place in the chart during the year.
The musician also participated in the local vocal competition in Switzerland in 2021–2022, although then he took only fifth place.
It is important to note that NEMO identifies itself as a non -harvest person, that is, a person who does not feel belonging to any of the gender categories. In his Instagram, he turned to his supporters, asking himself to call himself "they".
"I didn't do it publicly, but some of you already know: I don't feel like a man or a woman. I just like to think about gender as a galaxy, imagining myself a small star that swims somewhere in the middle. That's what I feel the best," Nemo wrote.
To participate in Eurovision 2024 NEMO, it was selected within the framework of the National Selection, where no vote was held. The winner was determined by a competent jury, made up of 240 members of the public jury and 30 international experts.
According to bookmakers, Croatia is the greatest competitor of NEMO. The country is represented by the young artist Baby Lasagna with the song "Rim Tim Tagi Dim". Although he was the leader of the forecasts for a long time, he now ranks second with the probability of winning 16%. In the top three there is also Italy - a young Angelina Mango performer, who will fight for winning the song "La Noia" and is likely to win 13%.
On the fourth stage, Ukrainian artists Jerry Heil and Alyona Alyona with the song "Teresa & Maria". Despite the fact that the duo won the national selection with a large break, their song caused stormy discussions. Some listeners condemned the artist for the image of Teresa, noting that she could assign the funds received as a donation. However, the artists noted that the image was used as a symbol of kindness and mercy.
All Eurovision measures will take place in the Folketts Park. Three scenes - Euphoria Stage, Tattoo Stage and Dancing Queen Stage, where special guests will perform, will be available for Eurofan. Souvenirs with Eurovision symbols, as well as dishes and drinks from around the world will be available in FriISGATAN Street.
Ticket prices range from 500 UAH for a semifinals rehearsals to 3000-13,000 thousand for the opportunity to see the grandfinal. Ukrainians will also be able to view the Eurovision online broadcasting 2024 on public platforms, such as YouTube Public and UA: Culture.
