America will provide support for the construction of hospitals with bomb shelters in Ukraine

Ukraine plans to build new medical facilities at the initiative of representatives of American medical and charitable organizations. The project includes the creation of four emergency hospitals and rehabilitation facilities for veterans, the Office of the President of Ukraine reports.

Hospitals are planned to be built according to EU standards, and they can function as independent facilities or as parts of existing medical facilities and rehabilitation centers. Each of these facilities will be equipped with a bomb shelter.

The Northwell Health company will be involved in the implementation of the project, which will provide equipment and train specialists.

Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko noted that as a result of hostile actions of the Russian army during the full-scale war, almost 1,700 medical facilities were already damaged. In particular, 1,501 objects of medical infrastructure were damaged, and 195 were completely destroyed without the possibility of further restoration.

Lyashko emphasized that the medical infrastructure of Kharkiv region, Donetsk region, Mykolaiv region, Kyiv region, Chernihiv region, Dnipropetrovsk region and Kherson region suffered the greatest losses.

The international partners of the project include the president of the charity organization Ukraine Focus, Brock Daniel Bierman, the chief adviser of the medical company AMC Healthcare, Brent V. Yessin, and the director of Ukraine Focus in Ukraine, Oleksandr Reshetkov.
