A six-year-old bear named Bear became a laureate of the International Fund for Animal Protection (IFAW) for his heroic contribution to the rescue of hundreds of Koal during forest fires that were reconciled on Australia in 2019-2020. The bear, known for its unsurpassed sense of smell, became the first dog in the world to respond to the smells of fur and feces koala.
The dog was in the training program of rescuers after his previous owners abandoned him for behavior problems. Thanks to his studies at the University of Sanshine Cost, the bear became an integral part of the rescue team during forest fires. His task was to track the injured koala and lay quietly near the trees so that they would not be frightened. Through his participation, the animals were evacuated and received the necessary medical care.
In addition to IFAW medals, the bear will get extra time for games and affection as recognizing his exceptional abilities and service.
