On Friday, a shooting occurred in the Central Dawn of Chicago, when unknown people opened a fire on a group of six students. The incident led to the death of two minors.
According to the Deputy Chief of the Central Control Group Chicago, John Hayna, at about 12:25 in local time, high school students went on Vabash Avenue when two cars stopped nearby. These cars came out of several people who opened fire and as a result of a tragic event, two teenagers aged 16 and 17 were killed.
Witnesses report that after the shooting, doctors tried to assist the victims. The ambulance delivered one of the teenagers to the hospital, but both died despite the efforts of rescuers.
It was noted that the 17-year-old guy was injured in the right thigh and chest, and the 16-year-old suffered gunshot injuries. Both were taken to the northwestern memorial hospital where they died.
John Hane said that the bullets were damaged by a jacket of a woman who was nearby, but she did not seek medical help.
None of the shooters have now been detained. The mayor of Brandon Johnson reported that Chicago police had launched a thorough investigation into this event.
