Cessna Caravan, one of the most widely used cargo aircraft in the world, has successfully made a full flight without a person's participation on his board.
This single -engine aircraft, which is often used for flight preparation, tourism, humanitarian missions and transportation of regional cargoes, flew a distance of about 80 kilometers, making a flight about 12 minutes. The flight has been conducted by Relable Robotics, which has been developing a semi -automatic control system for this aircraft since 2019. In this experiment, he remotely managed the pilot with the help of technology developed.
According to Robert Rose, the CEO of the company, the challenge is that Cessna Caravan flies at lower altitudes and in more unsuitable weather conditions than many large aircraft.
"Therefore, it is much more dangerous to manage it, and automation will be of great importance for improving the safety of these operations," he said.
