US President Joe Biden and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer resolutely rejected Vladimir Putin's threats about a possible escalation of the war due to Ukraine's use of Storm Shadow missiles.
During a meeting at the White House, Biden expressed his position that the use of Storm Shadow missiles to attack Russian targets is not a reason for NATO to start a war with Russia. The US president emphasized that these threats are unfounded and do not reflect the real level of the threat.
"I do not accept the version that the use of Storm Shadow missiles to bomb targets in Russia will be tantamount to starting a NATO war with Moscow," said Biden, denying the possibility of an escalation of the conflict.
Starmer, who arrived in Washington amid the worsening situation, also confirmed that Great Britain supports Ukraine's right to self-defense. He noted that the terrorist country is responsible for the outbreak of the war and emphasized the importance of continued support of Ukraine from the Western allies.
The discussion between Biden and Starmer covered a wide range of issues, including the situation in Ukraine, the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific region. According to Western sources, Washington and London have reached a preliminary agreement to allow Ukraine to use long-range missiles, although no official statements have yet been made in this regard.
White House National Security Adviser John Kirby confirmed that on Friday, September 13, new political steps will be discussed regarding allowing Ukraine to strike deep into Russian territory.
