The United States of America and Canada have announced the imposition of sanctions against Russia, influencing defense plants, banks and persons who participated in questionable "elections" in the occupied territories.
US sanctions entered by the US Department of Finance (ofac), aimed at Russian military procurement networks and those who help the Russian Federation receive equipment and key resources. The Kremlin again suffered a restriction that attracts sanctions against Russia.
Finance Minister Janet Ellen has expressed his indignation at how the Kremlin is trying to turn Russia into a wartime economy. Ofac has imposed sanctions against a weapon and technology purchases, including nine natural and four legal entities, based in China, Russia, Hong Kong and Pakistan.
The US Ministry of Finance has announced sanctions against more than 150 individuals and legal entities, as well as companies from Turkey, UAE, China, Switzerland, Singapore, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Some of the sanctions hit:
- "Expobank";
- Highland Gold, a gold -hole company and its owner Vladislav Sviblov;
- Settlement of Non -bank Credit Organization "Metallurg";
- Sukhovetsi under the Russian flag "Arkady Chernyshov", "Captain Yakubovich" and "Maria";
- Gold -owned company "High";
- Closed joint -stock company “Vologda Bearing Plant”;
- Motorinvest Lipetsk Automobile Manufacturer;
- Gazprom Lindeingining and Northern Technologies.
Canada's sanctions concern 30 Russian citizens who participated in the "elections" in the occupied territories. Persons who ran for illegal "elections" were limited. These measures are aimed at those who interfere with Ukraine's sovereignty, assist Russia's military aggression and use repressive methods against citizens.
Canada also banned imports of Russian diamonds and jewelry from them after consultation with the countries of "Greater Seven".
The sanctions imposed are indicative of the United States and Canada's readiness to support Ukraine and respond to Russia's aggressive actions in the region.
