The British carmaker Bentley took an unexpected step and presented the updated version of his iconic sports car - Blower in 1929. The new car, called Bloower Jnr, is not a complete revival of the classic model, but rather a modern electrified interpretation that retains the style and spirit of the original.
The Blower JNR is made of 85% of the original and is equipped with an electric motor of 20 kilowatts, which operates from a 48-volt battery. The maximum speed of the car is about 72 km/h, and the stroke is up to 105 kilometers on one charge. Although the technical characteristics do not impress, the main focus of the manufacturer was on the preservation of authentic design.
The novelty has a steel frame, springs and friction shock absorbers, a handmade aluminum hood and a body covered with a cloth that is typical for the original BLOWER. Some elements are made of carbonlastics to reduce weight. The peculiarity of the interior is the tandem landing scheme: the driver is located in the center, and the passenger is behind. The seats are a compartment for a bag, stylized under the fuel tank with a lock. Charging port hidden in a copy of the historical compressor.
The British company Hedley Studios, known for its tiny copies of classic cars, was developing BLOWER JNR. For Bentley, this is the first electric car to be officially used on public roads.
Production has already begun, and Bentley plans to produce only 349 copies. The first deliveries are expected at the end of 2025. The cost of BLOWER JNR starts from £ 90,000, which is approximately 107 thousand euros. Given the characteristics and limited quantities, this car will rather become an exclusive collection item than a practical vehicle for daily use.
In this way, Bentley combines the traditions of a classic auto industry with modern technologies, creating a unique electric sports car that will be a desirable novelty for brand connoisseurs and collectors around the world.
