According to the latest European , 76% of EU countries believe that Russian invasion of Ukraine is a direct threat to the security of the European Union. The survey also showed a high level of support for assistance to Ukraine and counteracting Russian aggression.
- Humanitarian aid to Ukraine : 87% of Europeans agree with its provision.
- Sanctions against the Russian Federation : support of restrictive measures for Russian companies, officials and persons have expressed 71% of respondents.
- Financial assistance to Ukraine : 68% support the allocation of funds for financial stabilization of Ukraine.
- Military assistance : 58% of Europeans approve EU financing for the supply of military equipment to Ukraine.
Russian aggression against Ukraine has led the list of the greatest concerns of EU citizens, ahead of the problems of migration (28%) and the international situation (22%). At the same time, 44% of respondents believe that peace and stability will have the greatest positive impact on their lives in the near future.
The survey has recorded the highest level of trust in the European Union since 2007 - 51%. This figure is especially high among young people aged 15-24 years (59%). Also, 51% of respondents were trusting the European Commission.
Almost half of Europeans (49%) believe that the economic situation in Europe will remain stable for next year, despite the challenges related to war and other global problems.
