According to the latest Wall Street Journal survey, 62% of respondents called these proposals a "bad idea". Only 25% believe that this idea can strengthen the national security and economy of the country.
Republicans still show more support for such an initiative. 51% of respondents belonging to this political force consider the expansion of the territory to be appropriate, although 28% are opposed. In particular, 81% of Republicans believe that US allies are not sufficiently responsible for their safety and are in reducing US participation in global affairs. Instead, 83% of Democrats emphasize the importance of international alliances and willing to finance to finance their support at the expense of the federal budget.
The survey was conducted from March 27 to April 1 among 1500 registered voters, with an error of about 2.5%.
