US President Donald Trump leaves his devotion to NATO, but he expects the Alliance to “pay its fair share” on defense spending. This was stated by the White House Prescribe Caroline Libitt during her first briefing on January 28.
Livitt emphasized that until NATO fulfilled its financial obligations, the dedication of Trump to the organization would remain strong. However, he is waiting for the Allies to increase the cost of defense to 5% of their GDP, which has become one of the main requirements of the US President.
