Blinken criticized China's peace plans for Ukraine

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken strongly criticized China's peace initiatives to end the war in Ukraine. At a recent meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Blinken noted that Beijing's claims of peace are inconsistent with the fact that China continues to support Russia's military-industrial complex.

According to him, this helps Moscow to produce missiles, armored vehicles and ammunition necessary for the continuation of the war.

"So when Beijing says that, on the one hand, it wants peace, it wants to see an end to the conflict, but on the other hand, it allows its companies to take actions that actually help Putin continue his aggression, it doesn't add up," Blinken said. .

Wang Yi replied that his country's position on the war in Ukraine has always emphasized the need for a negotiated peace.

"The United States should stop slandering and planting evidence against China, imposing sanctions indiscriminately and using this (conflict)... to create and encourage confrontation between different camps," the Chinese minister said.

It will be recalled that China announced the creation of a group of countries of the "Global South" regarding the Ukrainian settlement.
