London announced the provision of additional military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 7.5 million pounds ($9.5 million) for the purchase of attack and reconnaissance drones. This initiative is part of the wider international support that Ukraine receives in the fight against Russian aggression.
The transfer of drones will be carried out through a coalition of countries led by Great Britain and Latvia. The main goal of this initiative is to provide the Armed Forces of Ukraine with modern drones that will contribute to more effective reconnaissance and strikes against enemy targets.
In addition to direct financial assistance for drones, Great Britain announced in October that it would provide Ukraine with a military loan of 2.26 billion pounds. These funds are intended for the purchase of critically needed military equipment.
This loan is funded by proceeds from Russian sovereign assets that are under sanctions. Such actions demonstrate the principled position of Britain in bringing Russia to responsibility for the unleashed war.
Great Britain's aid is part of a wider program of support for Ukraine from the G7 countries. Within the framework of this initiative, Ukraine will receive up to 50 billion dollars for military, budgetary and reconstruction needs.
