Ukraine is preparing for the upcoming parliamentary elections, and President Volodymyr Zelenskyi's team is preparing a new political force. The "Servant of the People" brand, which became famous after Zelensky's victory in the 2019 presidential elections, is now perceived as toxic. Sources close to the presidential team testify to this, reporting that "Servant of the People" will not be used in the next parliamentary elections.
The new political force, which will probably be called "Zelensky Bloc", can count on the support of up to 20% of voters. One of the possible candidates for the post of party leader is Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, who is popular among citizens thanks to his reforms in the field of digitalization and the introduction of the latest technologies. The process of preparing for the new elections has already begun actively. According to the sources, the presidential team initially considered the possibility of renaming the party "Servant of the People" to "Diya", but such a decision was rejected because, according to their conclusion, the new name would not contribute to the growth of the rating. The new party can include not only current deputies, but also new people, including city mayors, heads of military administrations, activists, bloggers, popular volunteers, and military personnel. In general, the quality of the candidates is put first, not their background or political affiliation. It is important that the new people are independent and have the trust of the voters, because this will avoid the "diseases" of the previous terms of the parliament. At the same time, key figures in the future political project may become people from the orbit of the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak, in particular experts in the field of management and strategic planning. It is interesting that the regions are already working on creating lists of potential candidates for the future party, and are even collecting dossiers on candidates. Similar requests from Bankova have already been made several times since 2022, which indicates the seriousness of the preparation and the thorough approach to the selection of new party members.
According to sources, Zelenskyi's team is trying to approach the formation of a new political force more seriously, without repeating the mistakes of the past. Each candidate will undergo a thorough check to meet the requirements for the new team, which must be different from the previous convocations of the parliament.
