By 2030, AI may displace up to half of the employees of large companies

Artificial intelligence (AI) changes the world economy, and its impact on the labor market is only increasing. According to the World Economic Forum (WEF), by 2030, almost 41% of companies in the world plan to reduce the number of staff through automation of tasks using AI.

The survey has shown that new technologies replace human work in many sectors. In particular, employers predict staff reduction among:

  • Postal services workers,
  • executive secretaries,
  • Specialists in the calculation of wages,
  • graphic designers,
  • legal advisers.

Unlike previous years, WEF did not say this time that AI would have a positive impact on the creation of new jobs, which indicates a deepening of fears about the consequences of automation.

At the same time, 70% of companies are actively looking for employees for the development of SI tools, and 62% for effective interaction with the latest technologies. This indicates that the demand for experts with the knowledge of AI continues to grow.

To reduce the negative impact of automation, 77% of companies plan to retry their employees in the next five years. This will allow them to adapt to new realities and work with innovative technologies.
