Deputies of the European Parliament will come to Moscow to the parade

Five deputies of the European Parliament will come to Moscow on the military parade on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, Der Spiegel reports. Among them are two German deputies from the Union of Sarah Wagenknecht: Michael von Der Schulenburg and Ruth Firmenych.

In addition, three more MEPs, representatives of the Czech Republic, Cyprus and Slovakia, whose names are not disclosed, are expected to the Russian capital.

It should be noted that at first it was expected that the number of foreign delegations would be greater. However, the final list of guests was agreed by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which caused the reduction of the number of foreign participants.

By May 9, the military parade will become an important part of the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow, which have already arrived by a number of foreign leaders. Among them is the head of the PRC Xi Jinping, President of Serbia Alexandar Vuchich, President of Brazil Lula da Silva, Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro, President of Cuba Miguel Dias-Kanel, Mongolia President Uchnagiyn Hurelsukh and President of the Equatic Guinea Guinea.

It was not without refusing to travel to celebrate Victory Day. For example, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo said Estonia had refused to miss his plane to Russia to participate in the parade. He noted that he would still come to Moscow because he intends to put a wreath in the grave of an unknown soldier and hold a number of important bilateral meetings.

Also, President of Azerbaijan Ilgs Aliyev gave up a visit to Moscow, and India Prime Minister Narendra Modi abolished the trip due to diplomatic differences with Pakistan. President Laos Thonun Sisulite will not go to Moscow, with an official cause - a disease of coronavirus infection.
