DNR Dron repeats American RQ-4 Global Hawk

North Korea has introduced a new drone that almost completely repeats the appearance of the American strategic reconnaissance drone RQ-4 Global Hawk from Northrop Grumman. The device is assembled from parts used in the Chinese version of the MiG-21 fighter. This was reported by the Ukrainian profile edition of Defense Express.

A copy of the RQ-4 Global Hawk successfully made a flight during a demonstration, which was attended by DPRK leader Kim Jong-in.

North Korea showed the previous version of this drone in January 2024, but the new model became even more like the American original.

According to the media, the North Korean engineers have recreated not only the common features of the drone, but also the exact dimensions, the companies of the fuselage panels and even the location of the inscriptions that are identical to those that are applied to the RQ-4 Global Hawk.

Defense Express experts say that external resemblance to an American drone does not mean that the North Korean apparatus has similar technological capabilities. The DPRK probably lacks critical technologies used in RQ-4 Global Hawk, which can significantly limit the combat capabilities of the copy.
