Demand for used electric vehicles in Ukraine continues to grow confidently. In February 2025, the share of electric vehicles among imported cars under the age of five reached a record 50%. This was reported by the organization Ukravtoprom.
In February, Ukrainians purchased 4.2 thousand used cars imported from abroad and under five. This is a quarter of the total number of 17,000 cars with mileage that have passed their first registration in Ukraine during the month.
Among imported cars under the age of five, the largest share is electric cars - 50%.
For comparison, the proportion of other types of cars in this market segment has been distributed as follows:
- Gasoline cars - 33%;
- Hybrid cars - 8%;
- Diesel cars - 7%;
- Auto with HBO (gas cylinder equipment) - 2%.
Among used cars under the age of five, electric vehicles were the highest demand. The leader was Tesla Model Y - 430 registered cars. Tesla Model 3 was second with 285 registered units.

The growing popularity of used electric trucks is related to several key factors:
- Fuel savings. Electric vehicles can significantly reduce fuel costs due to cheaper electricity.
- Tax benefits. The state stimulates the development of electric transport through tax weakening and simplification of customs clearance.
- Environmental considerations. More and more Ukrainians are striving to reduce their environmental footprint by choosing cars with zero emissions.
- Wide choice on the market. Expanding the supply in the market used electric cars makes them more accessible to consumers.
Despite the difficult economic situation, the Ukrainian electric vehicle market continues to develop actively. This indicates that the demand for environmental transport remains steadily high and continues to grow.
