Funds for the payment of the so -called "thousand from Zelensky" will be taken from the unemployment fund, said the head of the budget committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Roksolana Podlas. She specified that within the framework of the 2024 budget, the unemployment Fund transferred UAH 10 billion to the Special State Budget Fund for the implementation of various economic programs, including business support.
In particular, in the first half of the year, these funds were distributed as follows:
- 1 billion UAH for partial compensation for the purchase of agricultural machinery and equipment of Ukrainian production,
- 1 billion UAH for the development of industrial parks,
- 3 billion UAH to support the Invest-Nanny program,
- 2 billion UAH for humanitarian demining,
- 3 billion UAH for cashback program.
At the moment, UAH 9.3 billion is left of the allocated UAH 10 billion, and these funds are planned to be sent for payment of thousands by the end of 2024, and possibly for 2025, depending on the number of persons who decide to use this program.
According to the government, the program can take up to 15 million people, although Podlas believes that the real number of participants will be smaller.
