Initiatives on the creation of a coalition are Poland and Germany, readiness to join it by the United Kingdom, Sweden and Italy.
Due to the prolonged aggression of Russia against Ukraine, European countries are united to create a armored coalition, designed to provide Ukraine with the necessary means to protect its territory.
This decision was made after the meeting of the Ministers of Defense of Poland and Germany. The main purpose of the coalition is to provide Ukraine with modern armored vehicles, capable of defending Russian forces on the battlefield. This assistance will include the supply of modern tanks, armored personnel carriers and artillery systems.
According to the Polish Defense Minister Vladislav Kosinyak-Kamisha, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Italy will also join this coalition.
Both officials have also agreed on the creation of rapid response forces in Europe, which will start operating in July this year. Their number will be 5 thousand soldiers - 2500 from Poland and Germany.
The Polish Defense Minister stressed the impossibility of freezing a military conflict between Russia and Ukraine, but noted that his country did not consider the possibility of introducing troops into the Ukrainian territory.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the creation of a coalition for the supply of medium and long range missiles to Ukraine. He noted that it was decided to "create a coalition for deep blows through medium and long rockets, as well as bombs."
