France is preparing to discuss the issue of possible participation of the European military in ensuring peace in Ukraine. Next week in Paris there will be a meeting of the heads of the staff of countries, who are considering the possibility of providing a military contingent to maintain stability after the potential end of the war. This was stated by French President Emmanuel Macron, reports Le Monde.
According to the French leader, the placement of European military units may be required to achieve long -term peace in Ukraine. Macron emphasized that these forces will not participate in hostilities, and their main mission will be to ensure the fulfillment of the terms of the peace agreement.
The French president stressed that Europe should take more responsibility for the continent's security. He emphasized that after the fighting, there may be a need to guarantee peaceful arrangements. That is why France initiates consultations with partners who are ready to participate in such a mission.
