Brigade General Gennady Shapovalov left the post of commander of the South operational command. He reported this on the official page of OK "South" on Facebook .
"He was honored to be the commander of the troops of the operational command" South "-a powerful military team, which from the first days of the Russo-Ukrainian War courageously and selflessly defends the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine in all directions," Shapovalov said in his address.
The general thanked his subordinates for the service and expressed his belief that they would continue to perform their military duty, multiplying the glory of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Shapovalov was headed by OK South in April 2024, and on January 19, 2025, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the brigade general will work with international partners in Visbaden. Its new task will be to coordinate security assistance for Ukraine.
