The Ukrainian authorities have made a call to the Brazil government to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin if he decides to visit the G20 Summit scheduled for the next month. This information is reported by the International News Agency for Reuters.
The Prosecutor General of Ukraine stated that he "received intelligence", which indicate that Vladimir Putin could visit the G20 summit in Brazil next month, and called on the country to execute a warrant for the arrest of the President of Russia, if he appeared there (Brazil recognizes the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court in the Hague.
“In connection with the information that Putin can visit the G20 Summit in Brazil, I would like to repeat that the Brazilian authorities as a State Party of the Roman Statute are obliged to arrest him if he dares to come. I sincerely hope that Brazil arrests him, confirming his status of a democratic and rule of law, ”Kostin said.
