According to the international group of scientists, by 2050 the world will face a dramatic increase in the number of cancer.
The study shows that the number of cancer cases will increase by 76.6% compared to 2022, and tens of millions of people will receive this diagnosis annually. Of particular concern is the growing inequality between countries.
In low -development states, cancer incidence will increase almost three times, while in developed countries the projected increase will be much smaller. The main reason for this is limited access to quality medical care, preventive programs and the capabilities of early diagnosis in low income countries.
Researchers also point out that men, elderly and Africa residents are particularly at risk of cancer and higher mortality. To stop the rapid increase in incidence, urgent measures should be taken at global levels.
Improvement of access to medical care, the development of prevention systems, early diagnosis and increased awareness of risk factors can significantly change the situation in the future.
